A Love Letter

MLIMA , Mountain of Love , Mountain of Joy.

*MLIMA means mountain in Swahili.

Growing up with mountains being a meaningful part of my memories in Hong Kong. Every full moon night I would just sit on my bed by the window, looking at the Lion Rock under the bright full moon with the summer bugs singing along. It is one of the most romantic & peaceful moments.

Arriving in Tanzania i felt this same inspiration seeing Mt. Kilimanjaro. The name MLIMA honors the land, Hong Kong and the community of MLIMA who works with. The view of the mountain has touched my constancy, my spirituality. To honor my past and the future what it will be.

Jessica, @jessicaolsendesign a very talented Danish illustrator who based in Dar Es Salaam created this artwork for MLIMA which captures the scenecy of combination of Lion Rock & MT. Kilimanjaro.
